A task force investigating anti-Semitism at the
University of California-Irvine has reported that such acts are "real and well documented," adding that "hate speech has been unrelenting."
More specifically, the task force points the finger at UCI Chancellor
Michael Drake, stating that he "has failed to exercise his moral authority as an educator and leader by abrogating his leadership responsibilities."
The group recommends that "students with a strong Jewish identity should consider enrolling elsewhere unless and until tangible changes are made."
Further, the task force noted, "Jewish organizations and the Jewish benefactors should be aware that their continued support of an anti-Semitic campus is, in the end, counterproductive and works against their own interests. They should hold the University and its Chancellor accountable."
UCI is a state-operated, taxpayer supported, institution of higher education.
